La Playa by Sara Cantador
Synopsis:
What does the beach hide?
Ian returns to the island that has been his home after a year of studying in Madrid. Although he has blocked his past while he was in the city, he belongs to the sea, to that beach where he has grown up with his family and that he has missed so much.
With her return, Eloise, a freckled and red-haired young woman, aged eighteen, breaks into her life, making her forget the anguish that the boy brings with her. But she carries a heavier burden than she seems: her brother died last autumn and an abyss has grown between her father and her ever since, which every day separates them more.
In a spiral of anguish and darkness towards which the two are dragged at a critical moment, the summer of 1988 will radically change their lives.
